Happy New Year!

So did you all have a wonderful Christmas? I have to say, not much to complain about for me. Things went smoothly for the most part. Everyone was assigned their person to buy for. This year we were got Chris' brother, Jarum, and his family. My sister-in-law always says she is "made of awesome"....... so I whipped out my yudu and got to work designing her a t-shirt. Turned out cute, huh?
I am totally excited for the new year! More beautiful projects to make, more time laughing with the ladies! Happy New Year to all! Love, Jill

Lots of fun projects and updates classes

The last couple months have been insanely busy, so I have been terrible about posting. You can rest assured that though I have not been posting, my projects have continued. We have scheduled our next few months of classes, and here are a few of the fun things I've been working on:

Fist I have to say, THE GYPSY is AWESOME! I have been having tons of fun using the gypsy to create lots of designs for screen printing. I busted out my Yudu and cut shapes designed on the gypsy out of vinyl. Then I stuck the vinyl to the yudu screen and screen printed through. The designs turned out great. I can't show you them all... I'll save some designs for after Christmas.

Another thing I discovered that is awesome... Your Story. I know this is starting to feel like a Provo Craft commercial. And that I promise, is not my intention... However, Your Story, is a Book Binder and Laminator. I made this book for my nephew for Christmas and since he doesn't go on the Internet, I thought it would be safe to post. I already have a laminator, but the cool thing about this one is that it laminates 12"x 12" pages. The book binding feature is really neat.
A product you need to watch for. If you are local, head into MFTM ASAP... they have every color. ON a previous post, I had talked about Smooch Inks. They now have Smooth SPRAY! It is so cool. It is a shimmery spray that you spray on cardstock and whatever you want. Check it out! I love it.
Now check the right for upcoming class dates. Sign up and save a spot.

Stretch Your Imagination

These are pictures from the recent Stretch Your Imagination class we did. This is a class that no matter how many times we do it, it always fills up. Fun cartridge.

One of our new favorite things at the store is Smooch Inks. We keep finding fun uses for it. Look at these pictures:

Past, Present, and Future Fun!

Yesterday we had the "Ghoulish Paper Dolls" class. These are the projects we did. After class, Teran and I tackled the Yudu. Have I ever mentioned that Provo Craft has got to be the worst at directions? I ordered the Yudu months ago, but had not done anything except look at it cross-eyed. I must say, it was a little intimidating. Once I delved in and did it a couple times, I realized that it is not as hard as it looks. There are some definite tricks to it though and once you get those tricks down, it is easy. We made a T-shirt that I hope to give away at our holiday open house on November 7th. I will be doing a demo of the yudu at the open house and will give a special deal to anyone that pre-orders that day. Also, as a reward for purchasing your yudu through us, I will give you a personal tutorial on how to master the yudu. BEAT THAT, Michaels!
Bytheway, if you have not already done so, mark your calendars for November 7th because the store is having big giveaways and fun make & takes. I will have the Yudu there for demo that day and will offer and special deal to anyone that pre-orders one. As a reminder, there are only a couple spots in the Cartridge Preview class on 11/4/09. We still have a few spots in Tinkerbell for this Wednesday. This is one of the 2 layouts we will be making.Hope you are having lots of Cricut fun! Hope to see you soon!

Something Spooky

This "spooky" jar was created with black vinyl. I used the spider off the paper dolls cartridge, and "spooky" was from lyrical letters cartridge.

Recent Fun

On Saturday, we had our "Home Decor" class. I have to say it was loads of fun. We taught the many uses of vinyl, the ease of vinyl cutting and application, glass etching, and fabric cutting, etc. Here are some pictures:

This is a vinyl project we put up at the store. We added some paper flowers over the top.
I made this for my daughter's room. I cut the "S' from Plantin Schoolbook cartridge and framed it. Then I cut the rest of her name in white vinyl from Lyrical Letters cartridge. Turned out pretty cute. I am debating whether or not to add her middle name underneath. This is a card we made cutting fabric on the cricut machine. Sorry for the picture quality... This is a picture of a t-shirt I made using vinyl to stencil with fabric paint. I used Home Decor cartridge for the cupcake and Storybook cartridge for the "birthday girl". It was pretty easy and fast. I also used iron-on rhinestones to make sprinkles on the cupcake.Next class coming up is Mickey & Friends on Sept 19th. We still have spots available. Also check your calendar for October classes featuring Stretch Your Imagination, Paper Dolls, and Tinkerbell & Friends. Hope to see you soon!

Just a little info... the Make & Take class on 8/22/09 will feature the NEW "A Child's Year" cartridge. The class is going to be AWESOME! You will not bring your machine with you to this class. We will be giving you a preview of this wonderful cartridge when we make THREE, that's right, THREE double sided layouts using this cartridge.

I don't want to spoil the surprise, but Chelsea and I put some super cute projects together that you will not want to miss. My first layout with A Child's Year

I couldn't wait to post a layout I finished this morning from A Child's Year cartridge. I am working on a girl layout now... If you like what you see, tell Teran to order you one! You will love this cart!

Oldies but goodies

Today I taught a Cricut 101 class and I got out all the old class projects. Here are a few... This is from Storybook font (sorry, the 2nd photo is sideways)... This one is from Wild Card cartridge. See, it is not just for cards! And this last one is a tricky one... bet you can't guess. This layout is from the Pooh & Friends cartridge. Even people who aren't into Winnie the Pooh can find things to love about this cartridge. I just got the new A Child's Year cartridge and can't wait to post what I have been working on... check back soon!

Baby's Room Vinyl

A customer brought in her Home Decor cartridge today and let me cut a big vinyl chandelier from it to put up in my nursery. Check out the pictures. Turned out cute, didn't it? The letters and blocks were made from Storybook cartridge.
